Secretary Faught
Announces Free Transfers from Park and Ride to Rail Runner
Express
(2-27-07) SANTA FE - Transportation Secretary Faught today
announced that starting Thursday, March 1, free transfers from New
Mexico Park and Ride bus service to Rail Runner Express commuter
train. New Mexico Park and Ride passes valued at $90 or more will be
honored by the NM Rail Runner commuter train. Any Park and Ride
passenger who holds a current monthly System wide Purple, Blue, or
Orange Route Pass, can ride Rail Runner at no additional charge.
"This free transfer will allow commuters to try and take both
Rail Runner Express and Park and Ride for the price of a $90 Park
and Ride monthly pass," Faught said. "It's just wonderful that you
can now travel all the way from Belen to Santa Fe, that's almost 200
miles round trip daily, for $90 per month."
Four daily Park and Ride express buses connect directly to the
Rail Runner at the Sandoval County/US 500 Rail Runner Station in
Bernalillo. Passengers can transfer directly to and from the Park
and Ride express bus on two morning and two evening runs.
